If you decide to offer your guests wedding favors, don´t look at wedding shops.
Many of the ideas that you find there will have already been used by many others of your family or friends.
Instead, begin thinking of the things that you could make and give as a wedding favor.
Tip No. 1
Use a skill you already have to create a wedding party favor.
If you have art and craft imaginations, then choose something that will use your skills to prepare favors for guests.
Scrap bookers can use their many special papers and tools to prepare a nice party favor. Make a small album for each guest, perhaps two inches by three inches. Inside, you may include a poem or reading from your wedding, along with a small photograph of the happy couple.
One idea is to use an index card for the base and fold the card to look like a matchbook.
If your craft is rubber stamping, consider having a special stamp made just for your wedding.
The stamp its self becomes a keepsake for you and you can create bookmarks for your guests that are hand stamped and colored with colored pencils that blend.
A special Christmas ornament could be made and personalized for each guest. Every year when the guests decorate the tree, they will be reminded of your wedding day.
A brillant idea is to offer seeds to your guests. You can purchase seed packets or get them in bulk from a plant store. If you buy in bulk, you can make your own seed packets with your computer and printer.
These may be personalized with the couple's names and wedding date. Alternately, use fabric or cellophane to make little packets of seed with planting instruction attached.
Just make sure that guests do not think these are rice to throw.
Tip No. 2 Choose a party favor that can be completed in time
Choosing to make your own unique party favors says to each of your guests that they are important enough for that you to take time from your busy pre-wedding schedule in order to prepare a wedding favor especially for them.
When choosing unique wedding favors, be sure that the little gift you will be giving away is not so complex that you cannot finish the projects before your wedding.
Wedding favors do not have to be expensive in order to be unique.
